DFIM/Habitat for Humanity SA - National Youth Build 2011
Habitat for Humanity’s (HFH’s) National Youth Build (NYB) is the Department of Finance and Investment Management’s at the University of Johannesburg, biggest community project to date. Postgraduate students and departmental staff members aim to team up and participate in building a house in Orange Farm, Gauteng. The build will take place during youth month from 20 June – 24 June 2011.
The total amount required to build a house is R91 000. HFHSA requires 15 people per day for 5 days to build one house. Therefore the participation rate per student per day is just over R1 200. Depending on funding, we may be able to build more than 1 house in Orange Farm.
Our students and departmental staff members will be participating in fundraising initiatives to raise awareness for the housing problem in South Africa. Advertising space for your company will be provided at each fundraising event or initiative. By sponsoring a student, you and your company can help us better the future of a deserving South African family!
One of our fundraising events will be an evening out with family or friends at:
Marrakesh Lounge, 173 Main Road, Bryanston, on Thursday 5 May 2011, from 18:30 for 19:00 @ R200 pp (including food & entertainment).
