Locksmiths

Yesterday at 3:30pm, a young man came to my gate saying he had received a phone call to come to my property to cut a key, because the caller had said their key does not fit. Obviously, not thinking on my feet, I should have taken his business card and followed up to hear who had made this call to them, male or female etc. It started me thinking, what on earth is that, that you can call a locksmith and get a key cut - for example - to the security gate leading into your property? The absolute audacity of criminals these days would also have no qualm about taking possessions out of our property in broad daylight like furniture removers.
Was I perhaps being warned, threatened by having this locksmith sent specifically to my house?

In addition, I saw received a sad email about the gross deterioration of JHB CBD (Yeoville, Berea, Hillbrow etc) yesterday and I can only pray that Melville/Westdene does not follow suite. I can only hope that UJ has an interest in maintaining their surrounding suburbs.
