Female reporter shot in a shopping mall
A female reporter was seriously injured in the crossfire during a robbery at the Campus square mall in Melville, Johannesburg this morning at around 10am.
It is believed that the journalist was shopping at a jewellery store when she sustained a gunshot wound to the upper leg.
She managed to run for cover but collapsed in another store, fortunately two paramedical students from the Technikon was also in the mall and started to stabilise the injured lady.
“Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedics and an ambulance team arrived within minutes of receiving the call. The patient was stabilised on scene and then transported to an area hospital for further treatment”, said Chris Botha of Netcare 911.
